Brewery De Leeuw BV is beautifully situated in the picturesque Limburg Geuldal, on the banks of the river Geul in Valkenburg. The housing is at least equally attractive: a former gunpowder factory. The waterwheel located there from 1886 is on the protection order and provided in earlier times in the energy needs of the brewery. The waterwheel is the largest unit in the Netherlands, which is still in operation.
